As a Portfolio Analyst at DigiBank, you’ll be the data warrior behind the scenes, supporting our Portfolio Manager in optimizing our financial product portfolio and reaching new heights. You’ll dive deep into customer data, market trends, and competitor offerings, turning information into actionable intelligence that fuels growth and empowers individuals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Decoding the Market Landscape
- Leverage advanced analytics and research tools to uncover hidden trends, customer desires, and pain points within diverse African communities.
- Track competitor strategies and emerging trends across diverse African markets, informing portfolio adjustments and product development.
- Analyze customer behaviour and usage patterns to understand their needs, preferences, and financial literacy levels, guiding customer value proposition (CVP) development and product enhancements.
Optimizing for impact and growth
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager to design and validate data-driven pricing models that balance affordability with profitability, promoting financial access and sustainable growth.
- Monitor key portfolio metrics, identify areas for improvement and propose data-driven optimization strategies to maximize customer acquisition, engagement and product effectiveness.
- Partner with portfolio manager to develop and implement robust risk management framework, mitigating potential threats like credit defaults, fraud and operational inefficiencies.
Fuelling insights and communication
- Build compelling data-driven narratives that translate complex information into actionable insights for informing informed decision-making across the team and senior management.
- Effectively communicate complex data insights to diverse stakeholders, including the Portfolio Manager, senior management, and other departments, ensuring clear and impactful knowledge sharing.
- Stay ahead of the curve in the dynamic Fintech landscape by actively seeking and integrating new knowledge and methodologies related to data analysis, market research, and financial services.

- Collaborate effectively with the Portfolio Manager and other internal stakeholders across departments.
- Foster a data-driven and analytical mindset, constantly seeking valuable insights from customer data and market trends.
- Maintain meticulous attention to details and rigorous approach to data handling and analysis.
Profile
Academic
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field
Experience
+3 years of experience in data analysis, market reserach, or a related field.
Competence
Hard skills
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data visualization tools and statistical software.
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous approach to data handling.
- Passion for mobile money and its potential to revolutionize financial inclusion across Africa.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
